AWARDS
The Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc. awards three (3) scholarships of $1,000.00 each to a graduating high school senior or a current college student to assist them with their education at an accredited institution of higher learning.
- One (1) $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior or college student who will be pursuing a course of study in agriculture, family consumer science, or a related field during the next school year.
- One (1) $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior or college student who will be pursuing a course of study in any field during the next school year.
- One (1) $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior or college student to be chosen at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
RULES
Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc. Scholarship Rules & Guidelines
- Eligibility:
- Applicants must be a high school senior or a current college student.
- Applicants must be or have been an active participant in a member fair of The Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc.
- Application Submission:
- All applications must be submitted online using the designated form.
- Students
can save their application and required documents within the online
system to work with their Fair Secretary or 4-H Representative as needed
before final submission.
- Applicants must provide the contact
information of a Fair Secretary or 4-H Representative as a reference for
verification purposes.
- Deadline:
- Completed applications must be submitted online by May 30 of the given year.
- Application Requirements:
- All required fields on the application must be completed to be considered.
- Applicants must submit a high school or college transcript. If needed, an official transcript may be requested for verification.
- Contact
information for a Fair Secretary or 4-H Representative must be provided
within the application. If needed, we will reach out for questions.
- Scholarship Awards:
- Scholarship recipients will be notified prior to July 1 of the given year.
- Scholarships will be awarded at the Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc. Annual (Fall) Meeting, typically in November. Attendance is encouraged but not required.
- Judging Criteria:
- Fair Participation: 50%
- Scholastic Standing: 10%
- Essay: 30%
- Citizenship & Leadership: 10%
- The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to withhold an award if no applicant adequately meets the criteria.
- Promotion & Support:
- Member
fairs are encouraged to promote the scholarship through fair meetings,
local events, newspapers, and school guidance offices.
- Fair Secretaries and 4-H Representatives should assist students in understanding and completing the application process.
